She arrives from Indiana next Saturday where will will pick her up in Connecticut!  Her name is Cassie!  She's a sweet girl who was used for breeding but really needs love!  She is coming via the pet bus!  If you get a chance check out the bus - what a riot!  http://www.adoptalab.org/

We are all so excited - can't wait to meet my new girl!

In case anyone is wondering - this transaction is 100% Zadge approved!

And one more thing..............if anybody finds my mind - please send it back - because surely I have lost it!

Oh HELLO strangers.............

Hello - knock knock anybody home?  Doubtful since I have posted here in what seems like an eternity!

Well - I have a few things to say!  Ready?

Would you believe it's only snowed once this week - just a few inches!  Amazing!  Everything is frozen solid and my floor (my 3 year old wood floor in my 3 year old family room) has buckled by the back door!  Yup - it's buckled alright!  Not only that but it's under the kitchen floor for sure because I stood on a tile the other day and it popped!  Ah shit - oh well - life goes on!  It'll get fixed!  The insurance company is taking their sweet time getting back to me - but when they want their payment they WANT IT RIGHT NOW!

It seems that I have been very busy since I started working again even though I am working PT.  I never seem to have enough hours in the day but am thinking about going to 25 hours which will give me a bit more time at home and my boss is totally supportive of this which is great - I just need to think things thru a bit more and will make it happen soon!

Have I mentioned I am thinking about adopting another dog?  I know I'm insane - but Carson is getting older and I don't want to be left with no dog when his time comes - I will be too sad to carry on if I don't have a dog in my life - the children on the other hand.........oh never mind I love them too!

The Man's Man is outside in full combat gear chipping ice out of the gutters...............winter SUCKS!  And I will never ever complain again about summer (at least not here) - because this winter had just bit the big one!  Seriously way too cold - too snowy, too icy, too messy, too everything!  ENOUGH with Winter!  You know what a good sign of spring is in these parts?  The Truck!  Yes the truck!  "The Truck" left Boston the other day for Fort Myers....................now you all know what I'm talking about right?  Good!  I knew you would!

Ok - Well tonight is the Grammy Awards - maybe if I am on the ball tomorrow I can attempt a review of the best/worst dressed for pure entertainment purposes of course!

And now - back to the kitchen - chili is cooking - omelets have been eaten and now - up next - Cupcakes for Matts hockey team!  Whatever has happened to Ms.Bee over this winter is not good - Ms.Bee does not bake much - she's more of a Barefoot Contessa kinda gal - baking is wrong on so many levels.........I think I have a severe case of Winter Sucks because not only do I not bake very often - I want to adopt a dog - and guess what else?  The Mans' Man says no - he says we should get a Puppy!  Next thing you know I'll be dieting!  Oh Lord I hate dieting!

What the hell!!!!!!!!!

WE ARE NOT ESKIMOS!

And just so we're clear - they're talking 10-20" over the 2 day period!  God is great, God is good - let us thank him for the snow - Amen!

Thirsty Friday?

WTF - these working weeks are just flying by!  Work work work!  I really love it! My boss is SO nice - I finally lucked out and found someone who actually values life - and doesn't just think about THEMselves!  Who cares about their employees - and it makes it SO easy to get up in a snow storm and drive 15 miles to work for her!  Who cares if the roads suck!  I got the AWD and I can get there!  I am actually afraid to say I am too happy because I feel like it might jinx me - (pstt - let me tell you a secret - I AM very HAPPY at my new job!)

Moving on - Today is Jan 28 - my Dad passed away 2 years ago today - I remember that night/morning so well - I could write a script - I won't - I will just say - May the wind always be at your back Dad - and may God hold you in the hollow of his hand - you are so very much missed - but we take comfort in the fact that we believe you are in a better place - so tonight I raise my glass in honor of my Dad - cheers Dad! :)  I hope you are having a blast whatever you are doing!

Did you read Meg's blog today?  If you didn't you should!  She kills me laughing - she has such a way with the whole political thing - she just gets it - she sees the side of things that others miss.............I love it!  And that Jon Stewart - he KILLS me!  That guy is da'bomb!  (Notice that's my word this week?)

Lots of snow here!  Aren't you glad you live somewhere else?

One last thought tonight before I leave ya - My heart goes out to our friend "The Zadge" http://www.blueskiesandyellowdogs.blogspot.com/ who lost her dog Jackson this past week - Jackson lost his battle with the evil cancer but he won the hearts of many friends and family!  As I told "The Zadge" earlier in the week - Jackson is at the Rainbow Bridge - playing cards, having a drink and cigar with all the other love bug dogs who have gone before him - I would even bet my Dad might be there - there are of course drinks and cigars going around! :)

PS - One last FINAL thought - My cousin over at  - http://et63-hope-thetransplantjourney.blogspot.com/ had someone come forward and give a substantial amount of money towards her stemcell transplant fund - enough that she can now go to Mexico to receive her stemmies as she calls them!  So God Bless the person who gave the donation - nobody works harder or deserves it more than my cousin Eliza!  And whoever you are - YOU da'bomb! :)

Enjoy everyone!

The natives are growing restless

Well - This was a headline the other day:

"Many Massachusetts Natives getting snow fatigue" - DUH - ya think?

My favorite brother inlaw in Florida reminded me the other day that I said this to him just a few short months ago - "I don't mind the winter really, I like the change of seasons" - Yeah - I think I was drunk when I said that!

This is this weeks forecast - it's enough to shut me up and make me crawl back into bed:

ENOUGH ALREADY!

Random Friday thoughts from the Abyss

Greetings!

The Lombardi Forum is up and running!

Yes sir - we're open for business - I'm thinking a hot chocolate stand for the kiddo's and a Kegorator for the adults?  Yes?  Just keeping it real!

In other news my Tommy is playing the NY Jets on Sunday. If you follow football at all you know that most diehard NE fans really despise the Jets!  Plus they have this big ass - isn't he a piece of work shooting his mouth off all week about My Tommy being overrated etc etc - blah blah blah - Rex is gonna get his big fat ASS kicked back to NY via Belechik and CO and that is all I'm gonna say until it's over!

One last thing before I go..............my friend The Zadge is having a tough week - her beloved yellow lab Harry has some evil cancer thing going on - she could use a blogger friend or 2 to help her out - since we're all friends here in Blogdom - head on over and give her a big blogger hug - she's sad beyond compare - as I would be too - and I know just knowing that people care helps immensely!  So stop in and say hi and give her a hug!

Harry you're the best boy in the world! :)

Fricking Fabulous Friday

Greeting Bloggers and Blogettes...........

Ms.Bee has officially completed 2 days of work this week!  6 hours each day down, finished, done, over, complete!

Ms.Bee is loving her new job and her boss that is NOT Sybil!  Thankfully Ms.Bee's new boss is actually human and does not require one to stand on her head and whistle dixie while playing the piano!

One of the things that I am really enjoying about my new job and is my ride - Ms.Bee was fortunate enough to grab a job in beautiful Concord, MA.   I don't think there is much need to explain unless you totally do not have a clue about history - lets just say I drive by some of the most beautiful scenery and homes this side of the Mississippi!  I really do appreciate living in NE - the charm, the character, the views.........I really do think we have so much to offer here - I cannot wait for the spring and summer months when everything is in bloom along the river and the fields are a sea of purple and cat-o-nine-tails!

Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure!

First Parish Church - downtown Concord

Louisa May Alcott's Home.....

One of my favorites - The Wayside House...........

And this baby - well this is where it's all at - I would Marry this store if I could......

And here is the big red barn where Ms.Bee now resides 30 hours per week - there I am waving from the second floor window - you just can't see me!
