Thirsty Thursday?

Ok - everyone seems to have a blogging day lately and I don't have one!  We have Meg's "I can't help myself Friday" and Dawn in Austin's "Wordless Wednesday" - I wanna play too!

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday at Ain't Miss Beehaven - Thirsty Thursday's will be reserved for some random thoughts as well as the beverage of choice for "Happy Hour" - maybe everyone will share their beverage of choice for that day and share any delightful summer time concoctions?

This 1st "Thirsty Thursday" will be in memory of my friend John who passed away recently - he introduced me to Thirsty Thursday's when I first started working with him - RIP John and hope you are enjoying your Thirsty Thursday today!

Happy Hour at my house starts immediately after all children's activities - usually Pat has a Lacrosse game on Thursdays and depending on how good or bad the team does will usually dictate what the cocktail will be!  I'm hoping today will be a good game for the Hawk boys and I'll maybe have a couple of these later on!

If not - maybe a couple of these:

This is Pat last week - looking a little lonely in the offensive zone - that's because the other team kinda of whalloped our Hawk team - that's ok - we're a first year Varsity Team - gotta expect to take some lumps!

So - Good luck to Pat and his team today - Go Hawks!  Hope everyone enjoys their Thirsty Thursday!

What's wrong with society?

This story is really bothering me - maybe because I was once the victim of bullying.  Was this really necessary?  This happened in my home state of Mass - which pains me even more because I represent this state and my oldest son is in high school and he tells me this kind of thing doesn't happen in his school - he tells me the Seniors are nice to the younger kids and don't do this sort of thing.  Now I must tell you I have trouble believing in a school of 1200 that this doesn't happen but really what the hell?

Here is Phoebe Prince - cute girl who moved here with her famiy from Ireland - the nice kids in Mass/America harassed her to the point of suicide.  This poor girl complained to school authorities that she was scared and they sent her back to class!  She took her own life after enduring months of abuse........God rest her soul.

I was once bullied like Phoebe - I endured months of abuse by a bunch of senior girls while I was a freshman.  Mostly I think because I was popular, a jock, and was being courted by a senior boy - a no-no I guess - I stood up to these girls and said "go ahead take your best shot" - nobody did.........times were different back then - this was 1979 - girls didn't really beat other girls up - but I can tell you I was scared - I hated walking to school - I knew every day that I would run into these girls.  Here's the funny thing - One of these girls tried to befriend me years later, one was my cousins sister in law - one of these girls I keep seeing in the grocery store 1 town over from where I grew up - she glares at me and I glare at her - she is a scum bag who looks like she just crawled out of the sewer, really!  I kid you not!  I still seeth every time I see her - and it seems to be more than I'd like lately - Note to self:  Alter shopping habits and times!

Rest is peace Phoebe Prince - and I hope these kids who tortured you get punished for what they did - it's wrong and nobody deserves to be treated that way.

Let's have a vote on a VERY important issue!

Well -  a couple of weekends ago, just as Ms.Bee was getting ready to head to Cape Cod for a hockey shebang  - Mr.Weatherman predicted unseasonably warm temperatures - that's all Ms.Bee needed to hear to break out the flip flops and sandels!  Woohoo!  However, when Ms.Bee went to her closet - she forgot that the Man's Man cleaned the closet a few weeks back - and when she opened the closet ALL of Ms.Bee's shoes were nowhere to be found!  Ms.Bee was agast!  Where are my shoe's MAN?????

Well the Man's Man said he'd get them for me, he just had to go look - that was clue #1 that the Man's Man didn't know where Ms.Bee's shoes were - and if Ms.Bee's intuition was correct - Ms.Bee knew that her shoes were gone forever.  Yes, it's true - the Man's Man has a VERY BAD habit of throwing away important things that belong to Ms.Bee.  Since this is not the first time the MAN has thrown things away Ms.Bee was pretty sure that she no longer had 12 or so pairs of shoes in the closet.  Not cheap one's either, some Dansko clogs - things from the walking company - some Clarks - things that help Ms.Bee move about the cabin with the least amount of foot pain!  Alas the flip flops were not to be - because THE MAN did in fact throw away Ms.Bee's shoes - he apologized - said it was a mistake - however Ms.Bee was mad!

Now I will no longer bore you with the details of the shoe fall out, Ms.Bee just wants to know:  If your significant other threw your entire shoe collection away would you be mad?

I'll check in later - I think I'm going to go shoe shopping!

Chinese Torture

So this morning Ms.Bee had an EMG test done in the big city.  Not that they aren't lots of completely fine hospitals closer  - I just have been unable to find a Dr who can diagnose my foot pain so I ventured to the big city on a friends recommendation!  So Ms. Bee's Dr at the big city hospital sent her for an EMG test.  What is an EMG test you ask?  Be vwey vwey afraid..........

An electromyogram (EMG) is a test that is used to record the electrical activity of muscles. When muscles are active, they produce an electrical current. This current is usually proportional to the level of the muscle activity.

This is part of what it looked like:

Do you see that TASER the Dr is holding?  I am pretty sure that's what they were doing to me - TASERING ME - yes sir - I am sure of it - and let me tell you - Ms.Bee has no intention of getting in trouble with the PO-lice and getting herself tasered - I surrender - here and NOW!

On top of the constant tasering of my feet and legs - the Dr, who just happened to be chinese - also stuck needles in my calfs, shins, thighs, hips, back and BUTT!  Yes, it's true - that didn't hurt as bad as the hip or thigh but HOLY MOTHER OF GOD - what a fricking form of torture!  It is not for the faint at heart!

After spending all morning and 1/2 the afternoon being tasered, Ms.Bee raced home to get little Matt off the bus!  She then took little Matt on a few errands and now her nerves are SHOT!

I feel like this and there are not enough of these to calm the nerves!

Help - I need rehab!

Ms. Bee spent her morning at the dentist and then at her local coffee cafe - nice little place on main st with comfy chairs and FREE Wi-fi - why the wi-fi you ask?  Because Ms.Bee's router crapped out last night - and because of Mr.Director of IT's major pain in the ass hookup - Ms.Bee took her trusty laptop down to the local coffee cafe after Mr.Dentist and spent 2 hours catching up with the world!  I had  a nice iced coffee and a very tasty chicken panini - then came home after lunch and took a snooze!

I actually have had a headache all day and not felt well - I think because I didn't have my morning fix of news via the computer in my PJ's!  I had to shower - go to the dentist - and then trek downtown to the coffee cafe!   I was having internet withdrawals!

It's 9:00 PM - Mr.Director of IT has just installed new router and Ms.Bee has her internet again!  Whew - Thank God!  I was about to implode!

Forget Jenny Craig or Betty Ford - I think I need a serious intervention - someone call Dr.Phil!  I need help!

Thank you Ariba Coffee!  My new favorite place in town!

Are you depressed? Are you on the highway to hell?

Feeling blue?  Sad?  Don't want to get out of bed?

Just click the link above and this old rock band AC/DC will literally make you feel like you're on the highway to hell! And after listening to them I wonder what I was doing in the 80's and why I loved these guys???? Hmmm....that's a story for another day!

I love the commercial where tear drops fall from a computer animated face. "You know when you are not feeling like yourself," a soothing voice says. The tears continue to fall. "You may feel sad, hopeless, and lose interest in things you once loved." The background turns dark. "Now, here is something you may not know. These are some symptoms of depression. Oh really? Thanks for making me feel like shit today drug companies! I was happy and whistling dixie until you came on my TV!

I think these drug companies are selling sadness - they want you to feel sad so you'll go to your Dr and say "I'm sad give me drugs" - then the greedy big wigs make lots of cash!  They're no better than the Columbian drug lords.

The TD Garden/Boston Bruins and MORE hockey news

Greetings my friends!

Today I am going to talk about some hockey do's and don'ts.   - And for all of us who have been stressing about apostrophes lately - well you can be sure there will be some errors here!

Last Thursday the Man's man acquired some tickets to the Bruins Vs. Pittsburg boxing hockey rematch.  Didn't turn out that way - it was an awful game, they lost but more importantly Ms.Bee has decided that she no longer is excited about attending any event in the TD Bank GAHDEN!   Now mind you this is a fairly new facility - but there is ZERO leg room and people are pigs!  The ladies room was disgusting - beer cups thrown everywhere - I think part of the problem may have been that the less expensive the seat - the more uncomfortable they make it for you - I have been to other games this year - sat in better seats and had better experiences.  I did snap a couple pictures while there; however Ms.Bee has forgotten how to download pictures off her cell phone so you won't get to see what pig's people are!  At least not today!

Our other hockey adventures were held this weekend on Cape Cod Massachusetts!  The annual Lobster Pot Tournament was held with 83 teams participating - t'was a beautiful weekend in the 70's - really a bonus in March for folks from these parts - a good time was had by all!

Here is Happy Tara with her Lobster Hat!

Here is Happy Matt - always happy on the ice!

There was one blip on the radar that I would like to address - crazy hockey parents!  There is always one bunch out there who ruins it for everyone else!  In our case we played a team from a very affluent area in Massachusetts and these were the worst behaved parents I have ever encountered.  It just goes to show that money can't by class!  What kind of parent encourages their child to "take out" "check him" "hit him" or "trip him" at the Mite level which consists of 7-9 year olds?  Mite level is NO CHECK! They really make it that way so little guys and girls don't get hurt!  It's a rough sport and most rational adults don't want to see their little love bugs get hurt!  Really I was absolutely astonished at the behavior of these parents.  They give hockey parents a bad name!  I think they all received one of these before entering the arena:

When they all should probably have been given these:

And that's all I have to say today - later in the week I hope to talk about something else besides hockey because really I should have one of these:
